Multidisciplinary artist Paloma Dueñas was born in Mexico City and located in Miami since 2001. She graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where she obtained a Bachelors in Music in Music Therapy and voice. Life in Boston exposed her to many of different cultures and gave birth to a creative process that expanded from music to a 35mm camera and into the visual arts. Paloma is an experienced music therapist and teaching artist for children with and without special needs, specializing in the Autism Spectrum and sensory disorders. PalomARTS offers art and music therapy services to children, helping them learn, develop and express through the arts. She is also an inclusive teaching artist for the Bass Museum of Art, Arts4All and the Miami Dade Public Library System. Photography by Paloma was created in 2006 with her first solo exhibition at the Wine Bistro in Design District, Miami. Since then, she has been exhibiting, selling and collaborating with many musicians, local artists and promoters in Miami andMexico. In 2010 she created PalomARTS Inc, encompassing the multidisciplinary aspect of her artistry into all the different services and possibilities of her art work. In 2013, her love for brazilian music and songs inspired her to create a live brazlian jazz & soul music project called Brasoul (Brah- soh-ool), She is the band leader and vocalist of this project. www.brasoul.com Since 2014, Photography by paloma expanded into PalomARTStore showcasing Mexican inspired Artisanal artwork, multimedia art and jewelry. In 2020, the pop up art shop moved online and now you can find everything she creates at palomARTStore and different retailers in Miami. In 2017, Ohm sessions was created when Paloma started using tuning forks and the Acutonics in her music therapy practice. The response and teachings when working with sound vibration with these children, helped her understand how the music can be medicine and learned first hand the multidimensionality of the human being through the power of sound. Ohm sessions is a space where the practice of sound vibrational healing and energy techniques allow the recalibration and well being of the self. Paloma travels doing this work back and forth between Mexico and Miami. Paloma currently offers hybrid programs of sound meditation practice, children's art, music and mindfulness classes through Outschool and private clients. |
